If you’re working towards period recovery, snacks are a must and they provide a great opportunity to provide your body with the energy and nutrients that it needs
Aiming to have balanced and substantial snacks not only keep you satisfied and energised for longer, but also helps to create a more appropriate distribution of energy which keeps our hormones happy!
A general rule of thumb I get my clients to follow is the “rule of 3” ????????
✅Aim for 3 different food groups, ideally including a source of fat, carbohydrates and calcium is a bonus!
These bars are great to have to hand for snacking on the go, or even as a pre-workout snack before an early morning session.
Here’s how to make them…
What You’ll Need:
200g of oats
2 X eggs (you can use flax eggs to make vegan)
1 tsp cinnamon
70g mixed seeds
40g of flaked almonds
80g honey or maple syrup
140g nut butter
50g raisins (dried apricots work well too!)
Pinch of sea salt

Method:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180’C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Add the oats, seeds and cinnamon to a large bowl and mix them to combine.
3. Put a saucepan on medium heat and mix together the nut butter, sea salt and honey or maple syrup until smooth.
4. Stir in the dry ingredients, alongside the 2 X eggs
5. Use a fork or back of a spoon to tightly press the mixture into the tin.
6. Bake at 180’C for 20 minutes until golden.
7. Leave to cool completely before slicing into bars or squares.
